LEARNING TO HAVE THE RIGHT GOAL
 
「……但我們知道主若顯現，我們必要像他，因為必得見他的真體。」 約壹3:2
"We know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. "1 John 3:2
 
來個小測驗，請回答︰「基督徒的最終目標，是死後得往天堂，對或錯？」
Here's a quiz. True or false: The most important goal for Christians is to go to heaven when they die.
 
假如你的答案是「對」，那你便搞錯了！可惜的是，許多踏上永生之路的人，都被誤導了。他們以為我們最終極的目標，便是進入天堂。
If you answer "true," you're mistaken! Unfortunately, large numbers of people are misguided as they travel toward eternity. They assume that our highest aim should be to get into heaven.
 
不錯，天堂的確是我們的歸宿！
Now, certainly heaven is our home!
 
然而，我們至大的抱負，應是學像耶穌，而非進入榮耀的天家。聖經最重要的啓示之一是：耶穌基督的信徒踏上的，是一條學像祂的路！
But our greatest desire should be to become like the Lord Jesus rather than to arrive at his glorious home in heaven. One of the astounding revelations of the Bible is that believers in Jesus Christ are on a journey to become like him!
 
當然，我們永遠無法像耶穌那樣地神聖，但終有一天，我們這些愛神的人，都會和祂的性格有分，也會像祂一樣有人性的光輝。
Of course, we will never become like Jesus in his divinity, but one day we who love the Lord will share his character and will be like him in his glorified humanity.
 
當耶穌再來時，最重要的事並不在於我們將要得著甚麼（燦爛奪目的外袍、閃爍生輝的冠冕，抑或是其它任何東西），而是我們是否已被奇妙地改造，成為一個有救主模樣的人？因為在主的榮光，「主若顯現，我們必要像他，因為必得見他的真體。」
When Jesus comes again, the most important thing will not be what we shall receive-whether dazzling robes or sparkling crowns or anything else-but in what we shall become: people who have been transformed into the marvelous likeness of their Savior. For "when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is" in his radiant glory.
 
我當然渴望最終可進入天堂，但我更渴望能像耶穌，而且是在這一刻開始便更像祂。你又如何？
Sure, I want to go to heaven someday. But I want more to be like Jesus. I want to start being more like him right now. What about you?
 
禱告
PRAYER
 
父親，求祢幫助我們不要忘記，祢要使信徒成為祢榮耀的子民。求祢幫助我們此刻更像耶穌，好叫我們為那日作好準備。奉祂名求，阿們。
Father, help us remember that you are going to make believers into glorious people. Help us prepare for heaven someday by becoming more like Jesus now. In his name, Amen.
